From the first impression to the kiss goodbye, body language is a vital part of the whole attraction process. But because it happens rather quickly on a subliminal level, even though most are aware of how important body language is, very few of us understand how it manifests itself in our actions with the people we date.

With the added pressure of modern dating, especially first dates, our ability to manage body language goes right out of the window. It does take a very long time to be able to read body cues that reveal attraction.

Today, our Irvine matchmakers are going to show you how to read body language cutes that reveal interest.

1. His torso is angled towards you.

When we turn our torso towards someone, it’s a sign that we are interested in them. But don’t just jump to conclusions right away. It can just mean he finds the conversation interesting and nothing else. So make sure you have more than just this sign in your arsenal.

Does he angle his feet and torso towards you when you are talking to him? If yes, that means he is giving you his entire attention and has closed off the rest of the world.

Does he angle his feet and body towards you when you are standing together in a group? If yes, it’s a subtle sign that, out of all the people, you are the one he has singled out as the most interesting, so this is a good sign.

2. He stares at you, especially when you are not looking.

Well, there are two ways of knowing this: either your friends have told you, or you have found him staring at you whenever you look his way. And the former is definitely better than the first one.

If you are the only one who has caught him looking your way and none of your friends have picked up on it, it’s probably because he knows you are looking at him and is checking if you are still looking. So it’s not necessarily a sign of attraction, it’s exactly what you would do if you happened to be sitting at the train station and suddenly realized that a creepy guy was checking you out. You would keep glancing his way to check if he has stopped staring at you, right? So maybe, try and be a bit more discreet about it.

3. He leans towards you.

Has your love interest done this? If yes, don’t jump up and confess your love. There are nuances to this body language sign that can make all the difference in the world.

We all mark a certain amount of space around people. And while the size of it can enlarge or shrink depending on who you are talking to, we usually get defensive when a stranger or someone we are not close to enters this space. That’s why we tend to be so rigid in tight spaces, such as elevators. We just can’t help but brush up against someone we don’t know.

So if your love interest often leans into your personal space by sliding up behind you and peeping at the book you are reading at the coffee shop, or he leans in when you are talking, then it’s a sign that he Is interested in you and wants to get really close to you.

If he leans in and crosses his arms and only edges his head closer to you and keeps his body far away, he isn’t really interested in you.

So what do you say? Is your love interest interested in you too? Do you notice any of these signs when you’re around him?
